About
Every piece I take on has already lived a life — in a farmhouse, a workshop, someone's front room. What started as buying pieces for myself, and keeping an eye out for interesting finds, gradually grew into something I wanted to take more seriously.
Most of my experience has come through buying, collecting and researching pieces myself, rather than a formal antiques background — and over time, a sharp eye for quality, age, construction and condition. I'm drawn to pieces that are well made and have aged well, rather than one narrow period or style: furniture and objects with character, that sit comfortably in a modern home rather than trying to recreate a period room. I source through auctions, house and estate clearances, private sellers and word of mouth.
If something's been repaired, restored or altered, I'll say so — I describe condition honestly, not dressed up. I'd rather build a reputation for good, interesting pieces at sensible prices, and have people come back. Because there's no shop front, viewings can happen by appointment — time to look a piece over properly if required.
